WallControl 10 Readme
WallControl 10 Client and Server are supported on 64-bit versions of the following operating systems:

WallControl 10 allows you to create and manage Vision, SQX, Media files, Images, Web Pages, Word (.docx) Documents and PDF document application windows.
This version of WallControl 10 is provided with UK English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Korean language translations.
Installation
Install the WallControl 10 Software by double clicking on WallControl 10 Installer.exe.
If you experience any difficulty installing this software, please refer to the help file provided with this install.
WallControl 10 License
To use WallControl 10 Server you must acquire a hardware license key (dongle) which can be purchased by contacting Datapath Limited

Desktop Capture Throttling [B# 48172]
- This feature allows desktop capture to be throttled between Performance and Quality captures to increase the reliability with low spec client machines and/or slow or unreliable networks. Most users should not notice a difference at default settings.
- Automatically throttles the resolution of the desktop capture to clients to minimise network bandwidth and image processing power.
- Automatically adapts to give you the best quality image available.

Client side settings allow the user to tweak the performance on a client by client basis. These can be found in the user settings
- Resolution Mode: Toggle between automatic mode and 4 standard resolutions, 4K, 1440p, FHD and HD.
- Performance/Quality � Adjust setting to alter the capture quality vs performance when in Automatic resolution mode.
- Update Interval � Adjust setting to alter the update interval of the capture.
- All settings are saved with the client.
- Desktop capture changes as settings are adjusted
- Traditional Chinese has now been added as a language option. [F# 48743]
- Web Browser Selection can now be made at the Web Source definition level. [F# 48327]

- Vision Streaming [F# 35119]
- Vision sources can be encoded and streamed via SQX over the network given the necessary hardware capacity to do so.
- This can be done via a simple On/Off setting available via the client.
- The Vision stream URL is provided in the source definition properties. The URL is static within the scope of the machine.
- The URL can then be used externally, either via another WallControl 10 machine as an SQX source, or via any other client that can decode and play H.264 streams.
- Streams auto disconnect when a "no signal" state occurs. They can optionally be made to auto-reconnect.

- Scrolling Banner Text has been added the WallControl 10. It allows for scrolling text to be added to any wall and is independent of windows. Banner text is accelerated by the graphics card and drivers to ensure smooth and efficient scrolling of text.
- Banners can be found under the new Assets tab and can be pulled onto the wall, placed and resized much like sources.
- Banners can be user defined text, or be taken from an RSS feed.
- Banners can be made available across all walls, or limited to the wall or creation.

- Windows can now be saved as Favourites, which appear under the new Assets tab.
- Any window can be saved as a Favourite, including templated windows and carousels.
- All favourites also save the OSD, Border and Frame settings.
- Favourites can be restored to the wall by either dragging them on to the wall like a source, or double clicking them to open them in its saved location.

- Discovery Improvements [F# 34315]
- Wall to Client Discovery has been reworked to improve efficiency and reliability.
- The amount of information within discovery packets, and the amount of discovery network probes has been reduced drastically.
- The client now talks to the wall servers directly to retrieve information about the servers configuration, once it is aware it exists.
- Manually added servers now only require the address to populate the client. All wall information is retrieved from the server.
- A Refresh button has been added to refresh the server list. This means you no longer have to clear the address cache (and therefore losing all previous connections) to find new machines.
- Renaming Blueprint [F# 34314]
- In Wall Management you can now rename the Blueprint wall in the same way you can rename any other wall.
- Source Tree Improvements [F# 34316]
- The client source tree has been improved to cope with large numbers (2000+) of sources.
- The search box has been improved to allow the sources tree to be search by name, or any part containing. This is in addition to searching by tags.
- Server Connection Pinning [F# 29466]
- Connections in the client can now be pinned to the top of the connection list. This is useful in scenarios with a lot of servers running.
- Pinned connections are also exempt from the Clear Address Cache button, meaning they will not be cleared with the rest of the list.

- -carousel - Starts or stops a Carousel in a window.
- -jitter - Sets the Jitter value for an SQX stream.
- -cache - Sets the Cache value for an SQX stream.
- -tags - Adds tags to any source being added.
- -location - Adds a location tag to any source being added.
- -toolbar - Sets the PDF Toolbar visibility.
- -pagenumber - Sets the PDF page number to view.
- -viewmode - Sets the PDF view mode.

- Source presets are honoured in carousels, allowing for the appearance of sources in a carousel to be predefined

- Child source definition presets default to their parent presets unless overridden

Version 1.4.0 - 10th January 2018
- WallControl 10 now has a Windows service that provides the ability for walls to auto-start on system startup. In this release the default wall and all existing child walls will be started upon login to Windows. Any existing walls will need to be manually started once after upgrading to this version before they will be auto-started.
- The Remote Connection provider now supports entering a non-default port number in the address, in the form hostname:port. This allows usage of the Datapath Agent screen cropping feature with WallControl 10.
- Remote Connection sources are now scaled to fit the source window.
- The user interface for adding Tags and Locations to sources has been redesigned (the actual functionality of tagging remains unchanged).
- The auto-discovery of walls from the client has been reworked and should now be more responsive and walls will be discovered more quickly.
- There is no longer a requirement for Active Directory users to have an e-mail address for them to be visible within the User Import list in the Security Client.
- Layout names are no longer case sensitive when opening layouts via the Command Line Interface.
- The default duration of Remote Connection sources in a carousel has been changed to 15 seconds.
- All sliders present in the Source Properties pane may now be adjusted by holding down the left/right arrow keys.
- The Windows Event Log sources for WallControl 10 have been renamed to Wall Server and Wall Security Server.
- The installer will now present a prompt if there are components of the application currently running.
- It is no longer possible to create multiple child walls with the same name.

- Validation of the duration carousel sources now correctly takes into account the buffer duration of the previous source instead of the following source.

- Added Datapath Agent v2.7.10 to Client Installation. The Datapath Agent allows the WallControl 10 server to use the target machine as a source which can be viewed on the Video Wall. It is not started by default as this would expose all installed machines over the network. This process must be manually started by the user of the target machine.
- Added Remote Connection Source Provider (requires Datapath Agent to be installed on the target client machine) this providers connectivity to Datapath Agent server.
- Added validation checks into template editor so that the user now gets visual feedback when entering rows or column values (The maximum number of rows & columns is set at 24).
